The new bullet train that travels faster than an airplane: first routes with magnetic levitation

In its first test phase it reached 623 km/h and broke the world record. It is estimated that in the final phase the T-Flight train will reach 1,000 km/h.

This is the new bullet train that travels faster than an airplane: first routes with magnetic levitation.

The transportation industry celebrates the creation of the fastest train in history. We are referring to T-Flight, the latest creation of the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC), which is revolutionizing the way we transport ourselves.

Under normal conditions, an airplane travels at an average speed in kilometers of about 885/933 km/h. The developers of this train hope that in its final testing phase it will exceed 1,000 km/h thanks to its magnetic levitation technology.

In a recent presentation of the train, CASIC, its manufacturer, has just announced that the machinery was raised to more than 623 km/h during the first phase of testing. Without thinking about the final objective of the tests, with this speed achieved, it becomes the fastest ever achieved by a superconducting vehicle or maglev.

The Chinese company CASIC designs, develops and manufactures everything from spacecraft to missiles, but is currently working on a Hyperloop.

How does the train work?

The operation of the T-Flight is based on the magnetic levitation system. Use magnets to push the train off the track and propel it forward. This means that the train floats off the rails and rides on a cushion of air. As such, maglev trains are faster and quieter than conventional trains. Since they generate no direct emissions, they are also better for the environment. Maglev trains are already used in China, South Korea and Japan, but operate at slower speeds.

In the second phase of testing, CASIC will extend the test track by about 60 kilometers so that the T-Flight can reach even higher speeds. The train is expected to eventually reach 1,000 km/h, meaning you could get from Shenzhen to Shanghai in just over an hour.
